Good action film with good performances

This is an older film starring Tommy Lee Jones, Sting, Melanie Griffith, and Sean Bean. In the interests of full disclosure, I should say I'd probably watch Sean Bean in *anything* -- and I have watched him in some seriously bad films. This one is good. There's tension, action, a bit of romance, some humour, and a really good soundtrack. It's not, particularly in the beginning, really fast paced, but for me that's not necessarily a negative because you're getting to know these people.

Good value for money

Great series. Lots of action, some humour, lots of derring-do. And it was probably Sean Bean's breakout role, even before Boromir. You do have to use your imagination a bit because budget constraints meant they had to use only a few men to represent thousands of soldiers. But if you squint a little, you can ignore that. These are good adventures. Watch the films.Then go look for the books, which are even better because they can go into far more detail.
