bargain for the money!
4 of 4 found this helpful Regardless of the money ( relatively very little), I was surprised how good this guitar looks, feels and sounds. I have a number of Fender and Squier Strats, and this can compete with all of them. Quite a heavy example, and the only issue with mine was that the plastic protector on the pickguard had collected splinters of the plastic when it was cut out, making it look rough-finished. Remove the film-100% fine. VERY minor cosmetic issue, and is just a side-effect of mass-production. Feel and fit of the neck and body is very good, and even the pickups have more bite than might be expected, with noticeable variations of tone for each selector-switch position-not something that is common in a 'cheap' guitar. I'm in no rush to change the pickups for Alnico. A good starter guitar, or as a reliable backup. Even the tuning is very stable, although I don't use the tremolo. Considering it comes with spare strings, picks, tremolo bar and basic case this is a bargain.

Good lens, but beware failure of the SDM AF......
Good results from this weightly lens, but the SDM failed, and despite the lens also having a screw-drive AF, it took some research to find out how to change the lens software to enable the alternative drive to be permitted.There is a hack method outlined on the Pentaxforms website, but surely it would make more sense for Pentax to allow the choice of AF drive method using the camera's settings menu.
This Pentax lens is not alone in having this quirk, and the sooner Pentax address the issue the better.

Pure Hank Marvin
Beautiful guitar, with subtle tones that echo the sounds from the early 1960s.Excellent finish, and a fast, easily-playable neck. Although I have a number of Strats, both Fender and Squier of various configuations, this is the one that hits the nail sonically as far as I'm concerned. To the extent that some of my others are no longer being played, so will have to go to new homes. The colour and maple neck are pure 'Hank', and if you love the Shadows, you'll love this. Possibly the only Strat you will ever need. It just seems to play itself....
