Pretty good for my first GPS
This model was my first entry into the GPS world. I was pleasantly surprised by the interface which made entering in addresses or even finding generic locations like "nearby Chinese restaurants" mindlessly easy. I'd call this an ideal GPS in the $150-200 range. I do have a couple knocks on this product though. Firstly, the map doesn't give directions to residential areas well, with their snaking roads and cul-de-sacs, and I tested mine in suburban Kansas City. Secondly, the GPS doesn't ship with two crucial items for non-techies; an installation CD and a USB cable to connect to your computer. Upgrading the map took forever and was a very buggy process that a non-techie might not get through since software needed to be downloaded from the internet.

    A great racing simulator!
First off, this is a racing simulator not a game. If you want a video game action, there are probably better choices out there. But, if you want to experience racing, then this is one of the best if not THE best racing sim out there. You get a bunch of tracks and cars to start out with that you can expand with the hundreds if not thousands of new ones on the internet. The game comes with an amazing collection of racing lessons that teach you the basics of operating a race car up to circuit training on the default tracks. I bought this game as a tool to learn how to drive a stick and found myself a racing fan after seeing what drivers are doing from the cockpit. The lessons will teach you all the fundamentals for typical track turns and obstacles. On race day, you get all of the race week events like practice, qualifying, and racing against AI cars. You can also set your car up for tracks by changing tons of settings like toe-in, gear ratios, and camber. When you get good enough to beat them consistently, you can move up to racing against REAL players on-line. You can find a host of on-line leagues where people run through whole seasons! If you're a racing fan or want to learn about what racing is about, this is the best option save paying for expensive racing lessons. Combining GTR2 with a good racing wheel like the Logitech G25 is unstoppable!
