Bought 2 sets
We have bought two 144pcs sets of Pokemon figures from 2 different buyers. There is a huge difference between the paint jobs. The first was poorly painted but my son didn't care. It was a ton of pokemon all at once. A few figures had missing/broken tails. Only had 2 exact repeats and 5 different posed Pikachus. He still loved the toys and played a long time every day with them.
Second set the painting was vastly superior. Looked like the pictures. Again only 2 exact duplicates, with 5 different Pikachus. Son even more thrilled! The sets contained @ 90 of the same figures. However, each set contained @ 50 unique ones. So almost 200 different types between the 2 sets. Son is still excited to have so many. He couldn't believe the sets had so many different figures. We thought they'd be the same.
I don't know how to tell who has the nicely painted versus the poorly painted. Both had the same pictures. They are very small, which we expected having found some at garage sales. It is nice how little space the whole lot take up. I had warned my son when buying first set that the colors and paint might not be great. He didn't care. The thought of 140+ figures was just too exciting to be picky. I'm sure he'll want another set. He has definitely enjoyed them with no signs of he'll stop playing with them daily.
