a beautiful coffee table book for an art or Soviet history buff
This is a fascinating book that contains illustrations from a very specific genre of children's books: constructivist modern art used in the first 15 or so years of the Soviet Union. If you are an art historian or fan of Russian art and history, some of the illustrators names may even be familiar to you. It doesn't translate all of the Russian text into English, and it would be nice to have more information about the writers and artists. But as a collection of drawings, it is lovely.
