Presto 06306 Dehydro Electric Food Dehydrator Dehydrating Trays
    18 Jul, 2018
Perfect addition to the Presto Dehydrator.
These add just the right amount of capacity to your presto dehydrator without compromising the quality of the food. I would advise re-stacking the trays halfway through your dehydration batch, (putting the top trays at the bottom and vice-versa) to get an even dryness in all your food in the same time period. The only downside to these for me is actually my kitchen sink size. Presto trays are about 1.75 inches too big across to fully submerge in hot soapy water in my kitchen sink...That said, I wouldn’t want the trays to be any smaller, or I’d lose precious dehydrator capacity; the very thing I bought these trays for. All in all, they work great and they clean up fairly easily.
Victorinox Swiss Army Delemont 85mm (3.34") EvoGrip 18 Pocket Tool, Red/Black
    10 Mar, 2018
This new design is *good,* but the older, original flat-scales style Victorinox is **GREAT.**
So, this would be a better-than-decent Swiss Army Knife (SAK), but I cannot recommend it over the original style. I have owned and used the heck out of Victorinox SAKs for years, and they have taken all manner of use, misuse, abuse, and tough environments. I feel naked without one in my pocket. Victorinox makes the best multitools, from the the best steel in this low-low price point, and several notches above. However, there are a couple disadvantages of this Delmont EvoGrip over the original design (the Fieldmaster would be the roughly equivalent orig. style.) Primarily: the scissors on the old Fieldmaster SAKs are outstanding, regardless of how small they are. They cut and cut, and I’ve used them countless times as fingernail clippers because they’re that well-designed, made of high-quality material, and precisely-assembled. The *new* design of scissors LOOK like they would be even more robust, but they are far inferior: Original SAK: -flat-edge scissor blades -hinge is a pin made of the the same, tough 1.4116 stainless steel as the blades - spring was incorporated into the fold-out portion of the scissors, could be easily replaced. -the scissors could be used both ambidextrously, and at an angle around corners.. Delmont / EvoGrip: -serrated scissor blades that don’t align with each other (and slip past each other for a “smush” instead of *cut*) -hinge pin appears to be made of brass, is considerably softer than the original, and gives the scissors about 1mm of lateral play between the blades -The scissor spring only engages when the scissors are folded all the way out and into their slip-joint. (This is a problem if you’ve ever needed to clip threads or fishing line, etc in a tight-space, while one-handed.) The nail file “blade” is a joke. Only about 1/2 of one side is textured to use as a file. The rest is wasted steel & weight I a blunt blade-shape. I wish they’ll just ground it into a 2nd small blade like the forestmaster. The one small-use-case advantage of the EvoGrip, however, is the grip itself. For a non-locking, slip-joint Swiss Army knife, you’re probably never going to need more grip while cutting or using the other tools... **but** if you have a young person with small or weaker-than-adult hands who you’re trying to teach to safely use a pocketknife, they can, potentially, have a hard time gripping the smooth red scales on the old style to close a blade safely. EvoGrip makes that easier for tiny fingers to grip the sides of knife body without slipping. (Whittle wood, not fingers.)

Excellent Dynamic vocal mic, if you have enough gain...
This dynamic mic sounds EXCELLENT on bass and baritone vocals, with a nice velvety, round low end and without annoying highs. ...just be sure you have enough gain on your pre-amp to drive it. (It puts out a pretty quiet signal.) Most consumer grade audio-interface-and-pre-amp combos will not have enough clean gain to get a loud enough signal into your DAW from a dynamic mic (although they provide enough gain for condenser mics.) I have a focusrite saffire and will now need to get an inline preamp to boost the signal. The Triton Fethead offers a good, clean +20dB, and I've heard the two pair well together. Otherwise, I'll have to spring for a much more expensive audio-interface and preamp. This mic has been used by countless big-name artists to record their vocals, bass, baritone, and tenor alike. You'll often see it sited as the mic Michael Jackson used to record the album Thriller.
