compact size with a big sound
bought this device for home studio recording, needed a guitar effects pedal and this has loads of great effects. Also has a built in guitar tuner, and a microphone input with effects for vocals. Although a small lightweight unit, it sits still on the worktop with jack leads connected. It has a small display but big enough to see what's going on. I had the gt-001 in use as soon as it arrived and the sound quality is very good indeed on the recordings.

compact with big sound
I've been a Meridian user for a couple of years now and the sound quality is superb, great stereo image without losing the detail. I had been hankering after some active speakers but most were out of reach price-wise. These M2 active speakers were introduced in the early 1980's so they have been around for a while, however I cannot find fault with the condition of them, apart from a few knocks and bumps on the cabinets and grilles. Three way with mid at the top, then treble then bass with a port at the bottom. Bass response is tremendous, but not at the expense of the rest of the frequency range, pure quality hi-fi. I have asked myself if the electronics (capacitors) might need an upgrade, but I am not that interested to find out, as I feel lucky to have found a bargain and am using the speakers regularly (i have them on low stands and tend to sit on the floor to listen).

easy to use, great sound quality, ideal for a small set-up, great value for money
Yamaha MG-10 analogue mixer, affordable, fairly solid and well made, I like the screw-on mains connection. I also like Yamaha products in general, a dependable manufacturer. I am using the mixer for a live rehearsal set-up, plugging in a drum machine (using two channels for left-right stereo panning), two guitars and two microphones. There are seven channels available, mixing is straightforward and easy. I have the main outputs connected to two active speakers, and the MG-10 acts as a competent pre-amp for these. I also have the monitor outputs connected to a recorder so I can make a recording of the songs, very clear and great quality sound. Only downside is the 'aux send' socket for reverb unit etc, which has no return socket, and if you use a line channel for the return it just produces feedback. However I am very pleased with the mixer and anticipate it meeting my needs for many years to come.
