A well-paced and filler-less retelling of a classic with refreshed voice acting added to the mix.

What I like about Dragon Ball Z Kai is that it offers a more well-paced, accurate telling of the original Dragon Ball Z material as presented in the manga years back. While I do miss the Falconer soundtrack used in the original Dragon Ball Z Funimation Dub, the dialogue and pacing are decades ahead, and you can tell the voice actors have now had years of practice to master their craft. It was also incredibly convenient to buy the entire Dragon Ball Z Kai story in DVD format for such a cheap price in comparison to the numerous Dragon Ball Z physical media options out there today. I will add that I do not tune into Dragon Ball Z Kai for the compelling storyline... I tune into it for reasons similar to why I continue to watch professional wrestling. Watching characters continue to push their limits and fight one another with the stakes as high as they can be helps me to stay engaged as a viewer and not necessarily have to analyze every aspect of the plot as I normally would with my other favorite shows. Sometimes it's nice to feel the tension and adrenaline and just keep myself entertained after a long day at work. And this is what Dragon Ball Z Kai never fails to accomplish when I choose to give it a watch.
