Good, but you deserve more!
If, like me, you are 40 years old or so, you will no doubt have heard most of these tracks 20-30 years ago (ah, those were the days...but don't get me started) or perhaps more recently on Radio 2.
These are good songs; some are very good. The lyrics go way beyond the more recent pre-occupation with "lurve", but if listening to the words is not your thing, there are some cracking tunes on here as well. Make no mistake, Supertramp were talented musicians and truly deserve a double-album of hits such as this.
But something is missing. In my opinion, Supertramp were an album band and the biggest failing with Retrospectacle is the lack of the so-called filler tracks that transformed their albums from a simple selection of good tracks into 45 minutes of cohesive and progresive entertainment.
Buy this for the hits; you will not be disappointed. If you want the real Supertramp experience though, you owe it to yourself to shell out for the albums. Believe me, it's worth it.

Disney's Cinderella - DVD or VHS?
I had high hopes for this DVD, my children and I having enjoyed the original VHS version for so long. However, I am very disappointed with the restoration process Disney have used here. The original animation had shades in the colouring that gave it a 3-D quality, whereas the restored version is more "paint by numbers" and distictly 2-D.
If you still have a video player, save some money and buy the VHS version; it may not be as sharp and the colours may not jump out at you from your HD screen, but the film is still wonderful. If you only have DVD, this is such a fine film you really should buy it anyway!
