The theory or knowing what we know...Epistemology -
What I thought was useful about this text was the depth of the information. Make no mistake, the subject matter is not exactly a page-turner. I am not a philosophy major (or minor) so the theoretical paradigms discussed are a little deep. There are several sections where the author actually communicates with the reader and seems genuinely interested in your success at understanding or comprehending the myriad of epistemological tenets and assumptions.
Certainly this is an excellent book to have in the event you are taking a philosophy or epistemology course.
Once you've read it, you will know the difference between ontological assumptions, postmodernism, empiricism and a bunch of other terms useful in scholarly writing.
If you have the tough course then this might be the text for you...

Pros, con and a recommendation!
What I liked most about the reader was the speed with which I could feed business cards in, and the fact that I could also scan the reverse side as well. On that note another great aspect was that when you scan your card in you don't have to send it through OCR. This is particuarly useful if you've jotted down a bunch of notes on the reverse of the card to help remind you of the person.
What I also like is that it does create a database (csv compatable) which I was able to import into my PDA, my Outlook address book and others.
What I didn't like is that the OCR tended not to accurately capture and convert the textual information.
My recommend that you set aside at least an hour if you have a business card pile like mine (200+). It will take awhile to clean up the OCR scannings. But don't worry about having to put them in alphabetical order...the Visoneer CardReader 100 will do that for you. It will also identify web addresses from e-mail addresses.
Overall, this is a very good product and I'm glad I have it. My only regret is that I waited so long to buy it and now my business card collection has grown :-) !
