Chromecast audio is very dissappointing compared to the video product
2 of 3 found this helpful Setup of the chromecast audio is a breeze. Unfortunately, the experience of day-to-day use leaves a lot to be desired. Strange bugs plague the integration with Spotify for android and every other app on my phone that I have tried to send audio from. Sometimes the connection won't establish, sometimes it won't disconnect. In Spotify, volume control is lost after tabbing out of the app and back in.
The integration with a chrome browser's cast extension works flawlessly, but this is little consolation for users who had hoped to predominantly use their android phone to interact with the device.

So much better than the plastic-hosed version.

The metal house offers so much more durability and flexibility than the plastic version, which struggles to ever lose the coiled shape it adopts in the box and can easily break at the attachment points. Even if you won't use the mounting rail, this metal version is worth the extra spend.
