great music and great amount of it
great music and great amount of it.
first of all, it should be convenient to say this box has not the complete works of but surely the greatest part of it. (i remember for example "perambulator" lp which here is not included, and there are some more).
in second place: the sound. sound itself is optimal, a great work of remastering, which gave the music a rebirth with polished details without losing its analog sound. beautiful sound.
third: the packaging. it's fine but i would have expected a bit more. just if carboard sleeves were gatefold, it had been possible having a more quantity of original artwork, including back sleeves of every record plus some credits when available: that could have given the collection a more complete appeal. booklet is fine, good information and design.
last, i found very nice the including of several bonus tracks on some cds, or even when some original tracklisting was modified due to time restrictions (on last fela's albums) but in all, every album is complete.
to sum up: if you like fela, this is a must have. music itself is reason enough, even more when we have a delicious sound definition.
