I love books , especially old ones that belonged to another , who left some of themselves, who loved it , in some other place, in times long past. I also love books set in or about California, My home. I often lose myself in a good book, which naturally becomes my friend for me to reread and visit time and time again !

    Item was as described, but not at all what I expected. This was basically a tourism/propaganda book produced by the government of South Africa. So much so that there is a note at the back stating that the publication had been registered with the US government as the work of a foreign agent/government. Not much value as a scholarly work, but a unique insight into how the South African government under the National Party projected itself to the larger world. Thank you!
