if you do actually read the book you will understand why it has been given the title .
from the author this book is a very moving story about life in the workhouse.the story has many twists and turns about the characters.there has been a lot of research gone into this book and is clearly a true account on the era when the workhouse was the only choice for some when times were hard or when parents did not have the means to look after their children.the story outlines the horrors and punishments and blackmail that was their fate for many years.in all a good read if this is your type of reading

this book will stay with you long after you have read it.
a book you cannot put down once you start reading the story which is based on true facts.it is a very emotional story which has you gripped throughout.so very well written.

EVERYONE COMMENTS ON THESE SMILEY STICKERS HOW MUCH THEY LIKE THEM
good quality different sizes and colours .different from the usual ones .colours stand out on cards ect.
