I've learned a Neu Trik !
0 of 1 found this helpful I really like this cable. It's well made, but most importantly it's not stiff like most of the shielded CAT5e cables. The flexibility was really important to me with an equal measure of importance that it function as advertised (i.e., as a reliable, noise immune, long distance signal media). I'd buy this again, and again...

Counter depth with cubes!
Not ice cubes. Not cubic inches. Although technically, both apply. What this counter-depth fridge has is cubic feet of storage. We looked for the most space we could find in a 36" counter depth model, and LG seemed to be the one. Thankfully, LG makes great products, and we're pleased with the space and the layout. They've managed to shrink the ice making guts down so small that it hardly intrudes inside. The down side is that it stores and makes less ice than many fridges, but we haven't found that to be an issue...so far.
There's really only one thing I dislike, and I'm astounded about it. Although the electronic, soft touch controls on the front allow you to set the temperature, they don't revert to measured temperature, and in fact there is no measured temperature display at all. HOW STUPID IS THAT??? They make some lame excuse about that being due to varied temps with varied amount of food, and this is just completely bogus. They should put a thermistor, thermocouple, or RTD in both fridge and freezer so you can monitor actual temperatures. Case in point: I put a high quality thermometer inside to see what's what, and for a setting of 38degF on the panel, it's about 33-34degF inside. SO, you can see that they REALLY need to have an actual temperature readout.

I'd make the same purchase if I had it to do over again
1 of 1 found this helpful Having installed two other brands of minisplit HVAC systems as comparison, the C&H Sophia meets and exceeds expectations. It is compact, energy efficient, and quiet (both inside and out). Installation was the same as any minisplit, so no surprises. Instruction manuals were well written and thorough. Value-wise, this is a good deal. You can pay much less for a 9000 BTU minisplit, but their SEER is WAY lower; meaning you'll be paying for that every month in perpetuity for saving a few hundred bucks initially. Buy the highest SEER you can, and you'll recover the extra cost in a couple of years or less. I like the included wireless control feature, which many other brands offer for $50 more. All parts of this system were well made and solid. 115v makes this unit easier to install for the DIYer, but typically a 220v unit would use less energy So go for the 220v version if you have a 220v circuit available (or space for it in your service panel). I would buy this unit again, and I'd certainly recommend it to friends. The ONLY negative was that an extra length of condensation drain tube wasn't included, and it's a PITA to find the right thing at Home Depot. I wish they'd include 15' of drain tube.
