A big bang and lots of smoke...
Just to start, I am an electronics engineer. There is a potential flaw in the design of this switch. Due to the sharp edges of the brass terminal blocks, and tight layout when using 3 core lamp cable, as I tightened the cover screws, the live terminal cut through the earth wire running past it, shorting it together. When I switched the attached lamp on, there was a big bang, lots of smoke and the brass terminal melted partly as well as the wiring in that area. The switch was destroyed.

Had to buy additional adaptors to fit my type of lights but all worked ok in the end.
