Bulky, but worth every ounce!
I think CRTs are some of the most underrated pieces of tech out there. This thing's colors are amazingly vivid, its lines are beautifully crisp, its blacks are beautifully deep, and it can run upwards of 80Hz at 1280x1024! If you can get your hands on a CRT like this, I would recommend it over a modern flat panel.

It worked until I tried to fix it, lol
The machine itself was in decent shape, remarkably clean throughout; it seems to have been in good hands previously. Shipping was also faster than expected!
When I opened it up, I actually found 32GB of RAM in it, but some of the chips were dead, so it only had 16GB *usable* RAM (which was as advertised).
When I tried to troubleshoot the memory, however, I ran into problems; namely, once I got it working with 24GB usable, I couldn't access the setup menu at all, despite it posting normally. It would just lock up after post. Not sure what I could have done to break it, but alas, it doesn't seem to work anymore.
Still, this machine has provided me with a lot of useful hardware; the fans are super strong, the drives still work, and the heatsinks seem to fit the AM4 socket pretty nicely. Plus, I've managed to adapt its case to hold standard hardware. It was built with a lot of hard steel, so even with my mods, it's still very sturdy.
Overall, quite satisfied. I got a lot of good parts for the money.

Great alternative to the 5700XT
0 of 1 found this helpful This card can be had for roughly the same price as an RX 5700XT and boasts better performance in most cases, not to mention far more stable drivers. The card shown here has a very effective, very quiet cooler that comes with programmable RGB lighting, which looks pretty cool when adjusted properly. If you're looking for a new graphics card but can't find a 20XX or 30XX card due to shortages and scalpers, this really is a good option.
