This is because its impossible to register it with Amazon. Hours of trying, customer service, and finally one of them admits this. The only advice I can give is: do not buy a used kindle. You will not, if my experience is a guide, be able to register it, and that means you cannot use it. I am sure the seller didn't know - who would have expected this? But its the fact.

I was sceptical about this but wow!!
My cat no longer scratches the sofa or chairs.
