Vampyr is a journey of the spirit and mind released through the haunting camerawork and moody atmosphere unique in a story of vampirism.
Wonderfully detailed and informative package, which incidently, includes the movie itself. Criterion pulls all stops in reconditioning, cleaning up, and revitalizing the original feature. This package includes books of script, additional dvd for background information, etc. of a true cinema classic.

Post WWII Philosophical Idealism
Among the first film footage taken in the Berlin and surrounding area just after World War II becomes the backdrop of this philosophical diddy which (as always after the fact) questions why don't "we all get along." A group of strangers happening on a train, unit to trace the apparent disappearance of a German diplomat whom has developed a philosophical approach for his German people. To learn from the atrocities of war and it's inevitable results. Each of the strangers so happens to represent different countries (allies) of the postwar period. The story and intrigue is "Hitchcockian" in nature and invariably leads to an almost fairytale like ending; A "feel good movie" for the whole family.
