Swing Of Delight
I feel this is an excellent recording. If you are not open to more of a jazz feel, maybe not for you. The players include some of the best of the all time heavies in the modern jazz fusion era like Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock and especially drummer Tony Williams ( who unfortunately has passed on ), no slight to the other great drummers also on the record.
The album is basically an instrumental record, and most of it is great.
Carlos' playing is inspired, as is the supporting cast.
Great sounding record, I owned the album when it first came out, and still like it enough to have bought the disc years later. Recommended.

Delbert and a great band knock it outta the park...
Delbert's voice is a little hoarse, but that doesn't prevent him from putting on a killer show. Great song selection, fantastic and tight band... Great guitar throughout by then - young hotshot Tim McNelly. Good time rock and roll, a couple of blues and a couple of those sad love troubled ballads. Not all of them are original Delbert songs, but either way - some great and memorable lyrics. One of the best double live recordings out there. MMc

Mike Bloomfield - Living in the Fast Lane
1 of 1 found this helpful I believe this is Mike Bloomfield's real last record. I am a huge fan, so to me, it is essential to own. The overall album has a couple of great spots, and the instrumentals show his achieved depth as a player. Unfortunately the disc does not contain the first song on the album version, Maudie.
I think there is enough here to please any Bloomfield nut, but not the best, to introduce someone to him.
If you are a fan, I'd buy it.
