An excellent read!
0 of 1 found this helpful Johnny Tapia is an American professional boxer. He has won world titles at featherweight, junior and bantamweight. He won 55 fights out of 62, now that figure alone can tell you what kinda fighter he was, not just in the ring but the struggles and fights he faced through out his life to survive.
This book is probably the most deepest autobiography i have read yet! It goes so deep into his life, his mind, his thoughts. The way it is written is almost like he is talking to you, makes you feel you were right there, going through his journey.
It is full of heartache, heartbreak, life in the ghetto, the fight to live, his battle with drugs, the torture of the guilt he carried after seeing his mother being murdered really dragged him down in life. It digs deep into your inner strengths of the human spirit! It makes you feel anything is possible, and after reading about his life and the struggles he has had to overcome, it gives you a sense of pride of the things you have and to not take things for granted.
I just want to point out, in my copy, there were a few grammer mistakes, here and there, and towards the end there is a whole sentence that repeats itself, but to me it was a minor mistake.
I read this book in days, i couldn t put it down.
Whether your a fan of boxing or not, i think it is a good read for anyone. But especially so if your a boxing fan. The things he has had to face, you think its not possible for any human being to go through in a life time. I guess the title speaks for itself, 'Mi Vida Loca' - (My crazy life) Definitely worth a buy, hope you enjoy it, 'cause i LOVED it! :)
