Great way to re-purpose old drives!
4 of 4 found this helpful I wanted to enclose a couple of 2.5 inch HDD's I had taken out of laptops and re-purpose them as external drives.
Found these on Ebay and bought two of them to give them a try.
They arrived quickly and with the option of 'Click and Collect' which is great for me as I am often not in to take deliveries. A very useful feature.
The enclosures are a clear plastic which gives the drives a cool 'steam punk' effect and are tool free so all you need to do is separate the two halves (carefully), place the drive into the enclosure making sure you have the correct orientation to the SATA socket and push it home. Snap on the top half of the enclosure and you are done. Easy.
The enclosures come with cables also, so you have everything you need to get the drives up and running.
Once connected to your computer, a nice blue drive light tells you it's powered up and if all is ok with the drive, your PC will see the drive and it's ready to use.
A tip: if you want cheap external storage, buy some old internal 2.5" HDDs and get these to enclose them in. You have a very useful piece of kit and you have recycled too! Win Win.
The price for these enclosures is amazing and even better when you buy more than one. Well worth every penny. Thanks for reading.

You need this tool.
Essential for removing crank pulley nut if you do not have access to an air impact wrench or a very strong electric one. Also essential for re-tightening of the nut with your torque wrench. A very good quality tool. Very sturdy. Well worth the money.
