Great video switch.
I have an older CRT with a single Component and single S-video input. This device is pretty amazing, with some VGA to component adapters, it works beautifully. Also, the sound is loud and clean on my audio receiver. I recommend turning it all the way down. I haven't tried the microphone but it does seem like it'd be useful for recording video game footage/streaming. Since it works so well with sound, I have Kodi configured to work headlessly with an android remote app, and play my local music files. For video with Kodi, obviously, I'd just turn the TV on. I would guess it'd also work perfectly with multiple VGA computers/devices and multiple displays, but haven't tried it in that capacity.

You'll either love it or hate it.
For games that support controllers, there's less setup, but be prepared to take a few minute before or during each game setting the controller up. You may also find yourself changing configurations midgame. During the Witcher 3, I found it made more sense to have the bottom trigger to be Witcher sense (left trigger) and run (A button) with how often I hit those two buttons. It worked great for older games (Unreal 2k4, Doom 3, etc.). There's downloadable profiles, but they range from okay to bad. It's better to set it up the way you like it. It lacks the accuracy of a true mouse, but those games were very playable.

Fun device, better with firmware update.
The games on board are quite average, but the new firmware update allows for easy loading of games from USB. It's a niche emulation device, and a DIY solution would work just as well or better. At $35, this is easily a 4-5 star item, but at the launch price, a Raspberry PI 3 becomes a more attractive option. Great for collectors, and it looks awesome. Keyboard keys don't work, and no composite video/analog audio. USB-micro power (not included). HDMI video only. I haven't tested DVI, VGA, display port, or other adapters, but will update if I attempt to use it on a CRT. Cloanto has been around for a while and currently sell Amiga Forever, and C64 forever.
