What, are you having a laugh?
So, decided to give SmartSense a try.
The new part arrived, nicely packaged and was in the car within 48hrs.
Yes, replacing this part in a VW Polo 2008 1.4TDI is a little tricky for the DIYer but can be achieved in around 15-20 minutes having watched a couple of tutorials on Youtube.
When I first tested the new part, the green insulator does get quite hot but the plastic moulding and supply wiring is stone cold.
An instant fix to the 'blower only works with switch in position 4' symptom.

Well POSH for the price!
My order arrived well packaged and everything was secure and intact. Inside the box this was a pack of hardware (everything you need to assemble this item) including a small Allen key. A lovely smell of fresh bamboo soon fills the room with a nice natural aroma. There was no assembly instructions supplied with the product I received but I soon had everything figured out and managed to assemble it within 30 minutes. Just take care when choosing which screws to use as there are two different lengths supplied. As a safeguard, I checked the depth of the pre-drilled holes using a toothpick. This will tell you which length screws to use and prevent splitting the wood. Everything completed, this looks really nice and you would think it costs a lot more than it actually does. I am very pleased with my purchase.
