Great for bushcraft and kitchen knives
I've been sharpening bushcraft knives for 15 years, I like a knife you can shave with, a sharp knifes a safe knife after all. I usually use ice bear Waterstones in a clamp and sharpen them the old fashion way followed with a strop. I haven't got along with rotary sharpeners as they can be aggressive. I was hoping this little gadget would help my kids and wife keep a good angle on the knife angle as the blade will be kept still, it's brilliant!! For the price I paid I wasn't hoping for much, a Waterstones usually costs Β£40 upwards, this comes with several already. The grades don't seem to be the Japanese standardised grading so the finest grit won't get you a mirror polish, for Β£10 I found some finer grits on eBay and they've taken me to a blade sharp enough (following a quick strop) to meet my high standards.
It didn't budge at all on the suction pad.
The mechanism was smooth and surprisingly sturdy.
The build quality was considerably higher than I expected. The manual was surprisingly well written and understandable, it even has tips and tricks for beginners. I'm usually a harsh critique on such things but I can't recommend this enough, beginner or expert this things great.

Low torque
The speed didn't peak over 1700rpm turning a m12 20mm threaded bar with no load on the bar (bar was to be used as a screw jack). I easily stopped the motor using light pressure with my fingers, the torque is very low

Qualoty comes at a price
1 of 1 found this helpful I work in aerospace and need an impact driver that's fast, high torque and won't let me down after an hour. The drill is for the house.
The driver has kept up no problems at all and has had chance to show off its full torque at home driving large diameter 7 inch hex head screws into timber no problem.
The drill has only been used with wood and is impressive so far.
It's alit of money but the quality speaks for itself.
I did buy a Milwaukee set previous to this and although the impact drivers are just as impressive the drills are poor quality. Sent back a 401 and a 502 as the spindles weren't straight (or bearings we're out of alignment).
Recommend Makita over Milwaukee any day, a little cheaper, alot better and more tools in the range
