the jesus lizard " Goat"
The Jesus lizard are quite possible the most chaotic group to have come out of America in the last 20 years. With a mix of aggressive punk and a fussion of rock with Jazz attitude they were one of most diverse bands to have surefaced out of the post punk, pre grunge soup of the late eighties , early nineties.
Goat was there album that made them known as a popular underground band. It is arguably the best album of there carrier with the best example of Jesus lizard madness on offer.
It's mix of dark lyrics thrown with hard edge alt punk/jazz makes songs like mouthbreather, Nub and South mouth typicle examples of The Jesus Lizard's hard edge. Songs like "then comes dudley","Seasick","Monkey Trick" and "Karpis" give a darker more disturbed vocal and a softer musical attack punctuated with hard edge chorus for good measure!
The Jesus Lizard dont do riffs they do alternative/hard edge modern punk, be warned! But enjoy.
