The best candy/breath mints
For those of us who dislike mint, these fruit flavored certs (just like Juicy Fruit gum) are the perfect solution for freshening breath. They are not easy to find in stores, so buying them in bulk form has been a great opportunity.

Great movie, great DVD
You can’t find this movie on DVD anywhere, let alone in original widescreen format. Oliver Reed went in to become famous as Bill Sykes in the movie version of Oliver. Rita Tushingham had just played Lara’s grown up daughter in Doctor Zhivago a year or two earlier. In this movie they are both in top form, he as an unrefined mountain man and she as his “arranged marriage” spouse. Parts of this movie are genuinely harrowing, but it’s been a favorite of mine since the 1970’s when I saw it on my tv. To see it widescreen for the first time was sensational. On this DVD print, the opening titles are in German, but it doesn’t affect the movie at all. It’s a rare opportunity to buy an excellent print of a great film.

Mr. Steane triumphs sgain
His 3 volumes of "Singers of the Century" are brilliant essays on the art and contributions of the best singers in history. Volume 1 is by far the most difficult to find now. Each short essay has been previously published elsewhere so this is a "compilation" book. Steane is one of the few writers on singing who can make the reader feel as though he/she has actually just HEARD the sound of the singer being written about.
