Definitely works
This is my second Bearifi. The first definitely helped, but it was a few years old so I thought that I'd see what the new one would do. I understood that the gain was 6dB as opposed to the 5dB of the original with the longer antenna. When I received it, the box said 5dB, so I was a bit disappointed. However, in a side by side test, the new dipole antenna does seem to draw a better signal. One of the wishes that I have is to have a signal strength app to help orientate the antenna for the optimum signal. That being said, it still works as claimed. I have no regret with either purchases and recommend it for better wifi reception.

My mistake
I got the receiver in good shape quickly. The price was right. However, and this is my error, I did not make sure that the model was compatible. Shame on Logitech. you'd think a model R800 is an R800 but the real model number is under the batteries and after much digging on Logitech's website, they say that there are two different receivers. Of course I needed the different one. After finding this out I came back here and sure enough the seller points it out. So I guess I have only myself and Logitech to blame. This is my 3rd R800 presenter. Lost one. Bought two but somehow lost the receiver for one.
So, to be fair, I'm giving the seller 5 stars but giving myself one.
