BM BM91557H CATALYTIC CONVERTER Front

Truly appalling manufacturing quality!!
From my experience the quality of these Catalysts makes them unfit for purpose. Before purchasing I spoke direct to BM cats to ensure I wasn’t going to experience fitting issues. I was assured they used jigs made from OEM parts and fitment would be perfect. The first CAT was dreadful. This CAT has an EGR pipe which mates to the same mating face (cylinder head) as the manifold. The “fit” was abysmal with about a 5mm gap on the mating face to the EGR pipe and an unworkable angle which put all the stud alignment out. The manifold flange was also bent at the outer edge where one of the stud holes is. This was sent back. The second CAT was marginally better but still unusable, now with the added bonus of heat shield bolt locations wildly out of place. The retailer tried their best to resolve this (at their cost) and were helpful but BM cats maintain it’s the best they can do!! I have an engineering background and have worked extensively with jigs. It beggars belief that they can turn out a product as bad as this. It’s actually a real shame as the quality of the welding isn’t bad at all. If you have a CAT that is anything other than a simple design I’d avoid at all cost!
