Heart warming true story.
Excellent heartwarming true story of a 1920's baseball star, his successes and troubles. James Stewart and June Allyson are excellent as husband a wife, ably supported by Agnes Moorehead and Frank Morgan.
A huge box office success for MGM in its day.

Great family entertainment.
An excellent print for this movie. Judy Garland is excellent playing both mother and daughter in this movie. Ably supported by George Murphy and Charles Winniget as the grandfather in a scene stealing role.
The songs are wonderful with Judy scintillating sinvinginv "It's a Great Day For the Irish", and "Singing In The Rain.
It is good family entertainment, with a heartwarming story. You will need a hanky too.
On an interesting note, Douglas MacPhail, an excellent baritone plays Judy's love interest. In real life he committed suicide at a very young age and the reasons were not given.
Enjoy Judy at her peak. Thoroughly recommended.

"Appointment with Venus" was excellent and based on a a true story. Love Glynis Johns and David Niven. All the cast were great and Venus too.
"The Flemish Farm" Excellent true story during the Nazi occupation of Belgium. Excellent performances. Tense in parts .

The Way Ahead" Excellent story, well acted World War 2 movie.
All three films were of excellent quality
