Aladdin EasyFit Isolator 15mm Refill

A simple get out of trouble solution, regarding no immediate water pipe shut off option availability...

If you are not troubled by time constraints, there are multiple ways of isolating water pipes, even with broken inline isolation valves. The Aladdin EasyFit Isolator comes into its own when things are a bit more desparate. A word of caution on installation. If you do not have to hand, or own a drill capable of exerting the required driving force, I would suggest that the fitting of this valve would be almost imposible. Additionally with the right tools, only supplied with the starter (not refill) pack, the task is simple and effective.

Limited life span with poorly designed internals..........

I have used three of these valves in short succession and they have all failed after installation. Any form of reversed water flow flips the internal seals and from that point on the valve forever passes. The answer could be to incorporate a check valve assembly.
