Steely Dan - Just the Riffs
As the title implies riffs, it would be fair to assume that the book would contain many of the clever and intricate solo's that Steely Dan are famous for.
Not in this book however, it doesn't give enough of ANY of the listed songs solo's to enable the reader to compile a complete solo (in the case of Bodhisattva NONE of the solo is included)and some are piano parts translated to guitar and some chords are wrong and/or the suggested positioning doesn't voice correctly or make it comfortable for playing.
I have learned nothing from this publication

0 of 1 found this helpful Most of the drum style is almost exactly the same as Shaggys "it wasn't me" with the usual and well used "Dan" appointments, making it a dull and repetitive experience. Sorry Don, your solo highlight was Nightfly.
