Only use on a tripod ...

... but that's true for any 300mm (600mm equivalent) lens without stabilisation. I've got very good results with this lens, only bettered [slightly] by the Panasonic 100-300mm, which is *much* more expensive.

Possibly the worst possible belt loop I have ever come across.

This belt loop does not open, does not have a security connection, and is so tall the camera can do a complete flip (rotate) on an ordinary belt -- so if unzipped, the camera falls out. The zip also works the opposite way needed if wearing on left hip, but that's a 'detail'.
