NP7-12L Yuasa Valve Regulated Lead-Acid Battery with 6.3mm connection

Great replacements for my expired APC BX1400Ui UPS batteries

The two batteries on my APC BX1400Ui UPS died. Although these UPS batteries are not supposed to be replaced (you are supposed to just recycle the entire unit!!), it's actually easy to do (and there are lots of YouTube videos that explain how). I purchased two of the NP7-12L as replacements and they were less than one-third the price of the APC equivalent, and far less than the cost of replacing the entire unit. Be careful as there is also a NP7-12 variant of the Yuasa battery which has smaller connectors (4.8mm) and these are too small for the APC BX1400Ui connectors which are a 6.3mm connection. Also be aware that the original APC battery looks like it is a 12V, 9Ah battery whereas the Yuasa is 12V, 7A so you will get a slightly shorter run-time out of the UPS, but for me the cost saving more than makes up for this. As to longevity of the battery only time will tell, but assuming I can get three years I will be pleased.
