As it says on the tin
Many reviews stated that this skimmer took days to several weeks to prime itself and start to skim. My marine tank was about a month into its cycle and had gone through the various algae stages, diatomic, green and starting corraline. It took a bit of tweaking the air valve and the flow restrictors to get dry skim in the neck of the skim cup but within a few hours it was producing proper brown skim. The outlet sponges did produce lots of micro bubbles but they had almost gone by day two. The tank water now is less smelly and crystal clear. This skimmer does a great job, is well constructed and cost a fraction of the cost of it's rivals. I also do not have a sump, using a cannister filter instead, so the hang on the back option was advantageous. I highly recommend this product to anyone new to the hobby who wants a skimmer but has a limited budget!!

Perfectly describes the product
Great value, easy to read digital display, much easier to see the exact temperature without struggling to read the old bulb type or the stick on colour coded versions.
