it's a book
it's a book. it's got words and pictures. what more can i say?

a very HEAVY dictionary
The RH dictionary of the english language, 2nd unabridged edition (1987), is a massive 30.5cm by 23.5cm, and 9.5cm THICK. it's got 2478 pages plus a world atlas at the rear. the A-Z dictionary itself is from pages 1 to 2214 with three columns per page and nice line illustrations throughout. it's very heavy. BUT the first edition of 1966 has words which have been deleted from the second edition. both are brilliant achievements. Get either of them. it's only competitor would be the Webster's new 20th century dictionary second edition, which i slightly prefer.

the best bilingual italian dictionary
the four-volume Sansoni-Harrap italian-english dictionary is the best and most comprehensive bilingual dictionary, suitable for intermediate to advanced students of italian, written and spoken. but since it was published in 1971, you'll need to supplement it with a more recent "grande dizionario" such as Picchi or Hazon.
