Great P-S camera, standard Canon features
4 of 4 found this helpful Pros -
This camera replaced my SD550 (7MP). It is essentially the same camera - similar dimensions, similar interface. It has more digital zoom, and it has more than double the megapixels. The image sizes are larger (4-5mb on high setting), so go ahead and buy a fairly large memory card (4+gb). Canon is my favorite company for point and shoot, and I really enjoy the ELPH series.
Cons -
Shutter is sometimes slow to react to button - a host of light measuring and focus processes no doubt, but sometimes I just want to take the picture when I push the button. Flash also takes a bit to recharge, and will hold up the picture if it isn't ready. For the size of the body, a little more optical zoom would have been great. A little more wide-angle, like the SD980 would also have been nice.

Terrific midrange zoom, but no VR

Classic product with a facelift

Same great features as the nuvi 350, which I've owned for 3 years. Screen is bigger, icons are pleasing. Everything that is awesome about the 350 is present here: Text to Speech capability for the streets, selectable voices, great maps, good bundled capabilities such as media player, etc. Excellent POI setup, too (much better than the TomTom system).
Also, route planning, and the "Where Am I" feature are nice additions.
Con:
Volume has become less accessible over time! A dial would be perfect. The 350 could pull up volume just by tapping the power button. The 760, you have to back out of the map to the main menu, then select the volume menu. Battery life is not great unless you kick the screen brightness way down. Given the large screen, some sort of AVI or video file support would be nice. Maybe video could disable itself when the GPS is in motion, to prevent driving while watching.
Finally, the antenna devolved slightly. I've noticed it takes longer for the 760 to find itself than did the 350.
Overall, it is a great product, and the nuvi family is by far the best GPS system I have used. You can't go wrong with a nuvi.
