Another excellent Marcia Willett novel.

I am a great admirer of Marcia Willett, and have read many of her novels. I am currently reading all her novels in order of publication. The Way We Were is a compelling read.

Charming - very engaging characters.

A charming series and a BBC classic. I was very glad to see episodes again, after many years. I admired Herriot's books very much, and this series captures their spirit well. The characters on screen are very engaging.

Richard Lewis Sings Handel Arias and Folksongs, , Good

A fine memorial to a wonderful artist.

I am a great admirer of Richard Lewis's recordings, and had been trying to get this particular CD for years. I was fortunate enough to see him live once towards the end of his career (around 1975 I think). This was in the Dream of Gerontius in Leeds Town Hall, conducted by Sir Charles Groves. Of course he is famous in Gerontius, particularly in Barbirolli's celebrated 1964 recording. By the way, I highly recommend his recording of Puccini duets with Leonora Lafayette, again conducted by Barbrolli, of whom I am a great admirer. This is available on a Barbirolli Society set of 2 CDs, entitled "Barbirolli at the Opera".
