Filofax Microfibre A4 Black Zipped Portfolio With Handle & Leather Look Spine
08 Apr, 2020
Filofax 35 years on but possibly not as considered
I have had Filofax products since the 1980’s and the “YUPPY” era. My first Pocket Filofax was - and I still have it somewhere - a beautiful black leather embossed “Hardy” from Harrods. It lived in my Barbour pocket and was literally my life - more so because I was training to be a Stage Manager and it was heaven on a stick for such work! This chap is still living up to the Filofax quality threshold, and certainly the price paid I feel is right, it wasn’t retail price. I’d love to understand the logic behind the completely detached ring binding system - I don’t like it - this was bought because I chair Confidential and Restricted meetings, the zip being an assurance of safety, but then let down by the potential of the entire contents being removed with very little effort if the Filofax was open.... seriously flawed. Especially with no option to “lock it in place” . My iPad will and does fit happily in the pouches provided, but I am concerned about there not being much “give” in the overall case. My fountain pens live in a leather pouch, which can’t fit anywhere, and force out the zipped up case in a very awkward fashion questioning the durability of the zip in the long term. The fixed carry handle is substantial and very useful. All in all 7.5/10.

Cheeky
This cheeky chap made many a smile over the festivities. He’s well made, if not intricately made actually, stands firmly and proudly and will be used for many Christmas’s yet to come I’m sure.
Pressure Washer Nilfisk/Kew/Alto Compatible Rotary Surface Patio Cleaner
30 Jan, 2018
Hovercraft Cleaning
Within seconds of firing the pistol and the pressurised water causing rotation, any guilt regarding the expense was fully dismissed. The most unexpected surprise was the near silence emitted from the rotators as the patio slabs underneath returned from the algal mire of hazard county. The immediate debris removal without any chemical applications was stunningly impressive, so much so, that there is no need for an application at all. Ergonomically, and being a spinal surgery sufferer, the height of the lance is spot on, and the unit, when under operational pressure literally glides like a hovercraft. Instead of an air skirt, this “hovercraft” relies on the very effective fibre brush that forms the circumference encasing the blast wash and thereby causing lift to make operational manoeuvres exceptionally easy and pleasurable. Noise and drag increases when the surface, such as grooved timber decking is the target, however, neither are a. deal breaker, and just require a bit more elbow grease. The use of brass pressure couplings ensures longevity as does non-ferrous metals elsewhere. Our pressure washer is 22 years old! (I’ve just surprised myself working it out too!) and is a Kew Alto, making 120 (Bar/psi?) of forced water. A mental note I did conclude was that any lower operative pressure would begin to impede efficiency, and is certainly something to research on your washer prior to a purchase. It won’t be anything to do with this accessory, but everything to do with your machines head of pressure. That aside, the final thing to mention is to know your individual manufacturers head connections type. It does matter, and it can be a costly error. No, Pressure washer connections are most definitely not the same, even if they look it. And when you’re firing at high pressure, a nearly the same connection is only going to lead to an injurious incident, so don’t risk it, or gaffa tape it. It really isn’t worth the risk. Safety first! There’s a whole bounty of pressure toys stocked by this company, and always those that you were pondering over in the back of your mind too! Enjoy! We are.
