Totally surprised.
I play a vintage National Double 8 and have a full set of National picks in nickel, stainless, and brass. I like them a lot. I don't really know why I bought these Dunlop picks but I did. Guess what?
Yes. They fit better, play smoother, have a fuller sound and, all in all, they walk all over my National picks. The 025's are a richer sound than the 0225's for a lap steel.
Well - am I surprised.
I just ordered three more sets.
Get 'em while you can!!

Disappointed.
Probably better earbuds perhaps. Found the buds flimsy and a poor fit and therefore the sound suffered. Strange because some other old Philips I have are very passable.

Used them for years.
I have used these Ernie Ball picks since the mid seventies and although I have tried other thumb picks I always pick up the Ernie's. For me they have to be worked on for a few minutes out of the pack - sandpaper or a fine file to bring the length down very slightly and then polished on some Duraglit - they are then pretty much perfect. I still have a couple of my 70's ones and I do prefer the older material but the new ones are still OK. Great for country style and really fast with an up and down movement of just the thumb, and also good with an alternate thumb/1st or 2nd finger movement.
They rarely move on the thumb and are fairly long lasting. I find the whites are my favourite - just a bit rounder sound - but reds and yellows are OK too.
On lap steel I use Nationals.
