A compelling look at racial bias and economic disparity in the 1950s and 1960s.
This documentary is very well made! The director shows what life was like at the Pruitt-Igoe projects in St. Luis, Missouri from 1956-1974. The struggle of everyday people trying to do their best while coping with economic disparity, racial bias, and a housing authority who couldn't care less, is quite compelling. I felt as if I was in the picture. I was able to sense the frustration and despair of both black and white people who didn't seem to fully understand the forces at work that set the stage for this real-life drama.
