    Disappointing but not all bad
I was expecting alot more from this phone. After reading about it's potential "iPhone beating" status i was hoping for a brilliant phone, reliable, easy to use and powerful. It isn't that. Firstly i would like to say that this only applies to my Viewty. I have not tested other Viewty's. There is a few problems with the phone that make it far from perfect and for this reason i am looking for another phone after owning the Viewty for only a month. The most annoying of the problems is the memory card. Mine keeps "forgetting" the memory card is there which means that when i go to look at my pictures or view videos stored on the memory card they are unavailable. To remedy this i have to remove and reinsert the memory card. This is a pain however because to get to the memory card you have to remove the back of the phone and the battery which means turning the phone off. This was not a problem with my old phone (SE K810i) which had a memory card slot on the side of the phone. Not a very well thought out design from LG. This leads me onto other memory related annoyances. The phone memory is inaccessible via USB. When i plugged my old phone into my PC i had 2 effective drives, one being phone memory and one being card memory. With the Viewty though i can only access the memory card. To access the phone memory you have to install the LG software which is very poor and i still haven't figured out how to copy pictures etc. to my PC using the LG software. You certainly cannot 'drag and drop' files. Another fault or should i say lie is the apparent Xvid/Divx support. I have tried to copy Xvid/Divx files to the phone and play them but to no avail. I have tried more than a few videos and tried different types of video compression etc. but still i can only play the standard mobile phone video files which are 3GP files. It would seem that the Divx/Xvid support is a lie. With all these annoyances though the phone isn't all bad. The camera is quite good although not as good as my old phone which was a Cybershot. Again there is a bug with the camera though. When a photo has been taken the preview looks good but then when you look at the photo again via the picture viewer the phone adds some sort of auto brightness which makes the picture look very dark and you lose alot of background detail from the photo. Also the image stabilisation is useless because it will not allow you to use the flash when image stabilisation is turned on which means unless you are taking a photo in perfect lighting conditions you will never use it. Image stabilisation was a key factor in my buying this phone so this adds to the disappointment. Another big feature of this phone is the HDSPA/3G connectivity which i have to say is fast and easy to use. I installed the Opera Mini web browser and with the 3G connectivity i can browse the internet at super speed, checking facebook or the football scores is no problem which does slightly make up for the other problems the phone suffers from. Whilst we're on the good points of the phone i would like to mention the touch screen interface. I though i would struggle with this being my first touch screen phone but i was quite surprised to find it easy to use and innovative. Texting was surprisingly easy and browsing the menus and files is a doddle. Other features include a document viewrer which works quite well and a video editor which i can't say i have had a need to use yet. Overall i would say the phone is average and needs improving

The best that money can buy...
Simply stunning. Following on from the Galaxy SII, Samsung have managed yet again to impress. With phones like this around for about £100 less than an iPhone I can't understand why everyone doesn't own a Galaxy SIII. For me personally it was between this and the Galaxy Note 2. My friend then got a Note 2 and I thought it was way too big, so I bought the SIII. One of the best things about this particular product is that it's unlocked so there isn't any network provider bloatware all over the place.
