Edge of Tomorrow
Great value DVD and delivered very quickly. The film is a kind of sci-fi "Groundhog Day" with great performances from Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, who both lumber about - it seemed to me rather pointlessly - in heavy metal exo-suits. They looked great, but didn't seem to stop most of Cruise's squad (well, squads, because, of course, the action is in an almost continuous loop...) being easily picked off by the aliens. But hey, it's not a film to get too picky about. It looks like they had lots of fun making it and it's great entertainment! Apparently a sequel is planned.

Beautifully Original Christmas Album
Beautiful album from an amazingly talented singer/songwriter which conjures up (for me) so much of the childhood magic of Christmas. Featuring Phil Beer from Show of Hands, and Johnny’s beautifully sensitive musical arrangements of the Christmas poetry of Thomas Hardy and other lesser-known West Country poets.

Nicely made, but didn’t work for me
Instead of spreading finely, which is what you need with iron sulphate, it delivers the lawn product through a series of holes rather than a mesh, so you end up with a series of lines of product rather than an even spread. Also the calibrations only apply to specific Evergreen products, so it was very hard to set the correct dose. It’s nicely made, but I probably bought the wrong piece of kit for my particular lawn.
