Clarifies history - Changes perceptions

As with many historical events that we think are familiar, I discovered that I certainly hadn't understood the whole Czechoslovakian Episode; this book deals with the last meeting between Adolf and Chamberlain and the infamous 'piece of paper'. The author changed my perception of Chamberlain - from being 'the appeaser' to someone who not only 'bought time' to re-arm (which we'd perhaps all gleaned by now) but more so by 'cornering' Hitler into a written statement that enabled Chamberlain to bring the Dominions and Empire into the war in 39 and (subsequently) enabled Churchill to persuade the USA to help out from the outset. Well worth reading if you're interested in that era of our history.

If you thought you understood 2008 - -

Saw this film in the cinema - felt the need to buy the CD. You need a fair grasp of the events leading up to the 2008 crash to 'get' a lot of what's going on, adn this deals with just one aspect of that - but it's entertaining and enlightening.

helpfull company - but mine would not syphon

I bought one of these pumps to siphon petrol - fortunately i tried it first with water, because while it will 'suck and pump' (small quantities at a time) it will not set up a siphon to siphon liquid continuously at a sensible rate. The company were very helpful - and provided another one FOC as a replacement - but that one did not siphon either. It is a cheap product which I was prepared 'to take a punt on' and I am not moaning, but I cannot, in all fairness, recommend it as a siphon pump when it patently does not work as such.
