Get this book, if what you want is to familiarize yourself with such a good review of Nietzsche's insight into the inner workings of the mind.
This volume of the Titan Existentialist, Nietzsche, should be viewed as the climactic summary of his core ideals, surpassing somewhat Ecce Homo. In it, we come to understand what constitutes us, as human beings, concerning our domineering drive that we seek to expand, in light of the Newtonian notion of all only being forced heaped upon itself, again and again. This is the distinction between teleological evolution and its biological counterpart. That is to say, the construction of one's psyche.

The Nibelungenlied is a prime expression of not only German folklore, or the sense of morality commonplace within the greater narrative of the Medieval era. It's of German nationalism, primarily. Though the poem's been taken for granted, and to a significant degree, misappropriated throughout time, one must still come to appreciate its grandeur, as an epic that sheds light on the ideal. This is seen in good ol' Sigfried's determination in living honorable: with loyalty to one's king, bravery on the battlefield, and devotion to one's lover.
