Well Implemented 'Memory' Flowing Clock
A clock that simulates the watches appearing in the series of paintings. On arrival was very pleased, as it really does a good job of maintaining the motif from the paintings, and is very serviceable as a wall clock (clock sized, not watch sized; a good net seven or eight inches high), remarkably easy to read from across the room, and very easy to place safely and securely on any ledge. I have it on the mantel of my fireplace, and, even a couple of weeks later, am still both amused by it, and at the same time it challenges convention. It does appear to be good quality, given the price. It is plastic, and looks like plastic. But this is a context where plastic makes sense, so it doesn't look like a plastic version of something better. My only real suggestion is that it would be nice if it were also available in a gold trim as well as the silver.

Excellent for making careful measurements
This was purchased to help me measure small volumes for designing micro-electronics to fit inside wearable items, where the difference of a millimetre makes all the difference. It works well for this purpose. It is inexpensive, but has a solid feel to it, and feels well crafted in use. I have used it enough to trust its measurements, though can really only attest to its accuracy at the millimetre level, though I have no cause to question it it has greater precision. I certainly recommend it for any context where you are not legally responsible for its accuracy (again, I have no reason to question it, but professionally would rather lay the liability onto another authority.)

Good quality entry level turntable that helps you be social and still keep your records intact
2 of 2 found this helpful This is an entry-level turntable in the sense that it is good quality, and won't destroy your vinyl. It is obviously a good bit more expensive than many other turntables, but worth the price if you are at all serious about preserving your collection. The only downside is that it does not have phono outputs. However, it apparently has a good quality preamplifier inside (unconfigurable), as it sounds more or less identical, using the aux input to the same amp, to the Dual CS503-1, which only has phono outputs. It is ideal for basic 'automatic' use. To play a record that is on the turntable, you press a play button, and it automatically finds the beginning of the record, press the stop button and it resets to the arm rest. It also has an 'arm elevation' button, which is effectively a pause function, lifting the arm until you press again. You can manually position the arm before pressing to continue. This means that you can fairly safely point other people to play your records and look cool about it.
I recommend it highly if a) you are willing to give up control of the signal that phono outputs might give you with high end amplifiers, and b) you want to make sure your partner and other friends don't destroy your collection without coming across as someone who has invested a bit too much emotion in their collection.
