Not favorably impressed
4 of 6 found this helpful I purchased 2 of these to retrofit both a 3 cell and 4 cell Maglite. While they are indeed brighter than the incandescent bulb they replaced, they are not as bright as a factory 2 cell LED Maglite. These are all D cell flashlights. The color rendering is more toward the yellow spectrum than the Maglite and the projected beam is not uniform in shape and also has a considerable "hole" in the center of the beam. I can focus to a tight spot without the center hole with an incandescent bulb in the same flashlights. All in all, my expectations were perhaps a bit high, but these are NOT equivalent to the Maglite elements, in my opinion. I wish I had applied the purchase price to new Maglite flashlights, and not to retrofit LEDs. Time will tell if they're durable, but I would not purchase again.
