First year Experience
13 of 14 found this helpful We purchased the item at Circuit City one year ago, when they had a big sale. It has functioned fine. We upgraded to a HDTV receiver on our DirecTv and the picture is great. The TV senses what signal it is receiving 480, 720 or 1080 and displays the mode for a few seconds whenever you change from one type to the other. It then automatically changes the picture size, etc to match the signal. A friend of mine as a HDTV set and his is not capable of the 720 format so all he gets if it is in 720 is the audio and a bunch of static. I have found that several of the off air stations in our area transmit in the 720 format, so this is a plus.
Our set came with a DVI connection instead of the newer HDMI connection for HD programming. We purchased the DVI to HDMI converter cable at Sam's Club for around $ 20.00. This is the high quality connection, but the DVI port on our set only transmits the video. I have seen the newer versions of this model and they had the HDMI port which combines both Audio and Video signal in the single HDMI/HDMI cable. If you are looking at one of these TVs, check the back side to see it is has the HDMI port that looks like a USB port on a computer. The DVI port is much larger and has individual pins holes in it.
It has a ton of connectors on the back
3 - RF inputs two antenna and one cable converter
1 DVI ( HDMI on newer sets) for HD sidnals
Inputs 1 & 2 are RCA type Pb,Pr, Y video and Left Right Audio
Inputs 3 & 4 are RCA type left, right audio, video and one S video
Monitor Output are RCA type Left, right audio, video and one S video
Audio out is RCA type Left, right and also has center signal jack
IR Blaster jack provides IR output for external devices. This allows you to control the connected devices with the TV's remote.
Comes with a fairly informative user manual and a color easy graphis guide that has recommendations on how to hook it up . Warranty on Screen is only 30 days, 90 days on the lamp and 1 year parts and labor.
They have dropped about $500.00 since we bought ours a year ago and are in the $ 2,000.00 range now.
Have not had any problems with it so far.

Data input is not set up the best, unable to retrieve prior years TT data
I have used TT for over ten years. This 2016 version was the least user friendly that I have used as far as data input. It may have been related to my major problem that 2016 Premiere would not retrieve data and information from the 2015 Premiere Tax return. Both were the CD ROM version and not the on line. Even though I could find and print, the 2015 tax return, 2016 could not. After talking with two TT customer service reps, neither could solve the issue. Ended up manually reentering all the data including, loss carry over, depreciation schedules, accumulated depreciation, etc. I am sure there had to have been a way to retrieve that data if the 2015 premiere would load and entire 2015 tax return could be brought up. the first person I talked to was pretty sure that the rep he transferred me to would be able to fix the issue. The 2nd person did not seem to care if he solved my problem or not. If there was an software error in how the 2015 version saved the data or in how the 2016 version retrieved it, no one admitted it. Will shop around for a different solution to file my 2017 taxes.
