Engaging - thrilling - intriguing

This is becoming one of my favourite box sets - I'm putting up there with The Wire and Breaking Bad. There's plenty of action, but it's the intrigue of the relationships and conflicted interests that's so compelling. Unlike some series, this is surprisingly gentle: there is violence and killing, but the emphasis is not on gore or portraying vicious characters - rather it's about the dissonance between pure ideological principles and our complex and nuanced need for relationships. Can't praise it high enough.

Inspiration and wisdom

There's a lot of self-help/psychology, new age and spiritual teaching out there. I've read a lot and I'm increasingly of the view that the 'psychosynthesis' school (to which this book belongs) is very sound and helpful. Psychosynthesis was established by Roberto Assagioli, who was the Italian near-contemporary of Freud and Jung and, in the view of many, a pioneer of equal significance.
