Pocket Guide to the Identification of First Editions
As a book seller, being able to acurately identify first editions is extremely important and equally important is the ability to tell what is NOT a first edtion and thus avoid misrepresentation. The methods used by the over 3700 publishers adressed in 'Pocket Guide to the Identification of First Editions' to identify firsts vary widely and, frankly, without such a reference work handy, it is often impossible to know how to identify one, especially for antique and vintage works. I have found this book to be of immense value to me and am comfortable saying that, whether you sell books or collect books, this book is indispensable.
